HOME   Introduction   Greetings
The Wireless & Mobile Networking Laboratory (WMNL) is directed by Hyoil Kim,
an associate professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at UNIST.
The WMNL's research focuses on the cutting edge technology in wired/wireless networking, including:
1. Cognitive radio (CR) and dynamic spectrum access (DSA) technologies
2. Next-generation WLAN (e.g., IEEE 802.11ax, low-latency WLAN for VR/AR/MR)
3. 5G/6G communications (e.g., low-latency 5G core, 5G mmWave, communications-computing convergence)
4. AI-empowered communications (e.g., GAN/RL-based WLAN-5G coexistence)
5. Mobile cloud computing (MCC) and mobile edge computing (MEC)
6. Vehicular networks (e.g., V2X, infra-guided autonomous driving, Hyperloop communications)
The WMNL's research interest particularly lies in network optimization and scheduling, spectrum resource management and allocation, performance and capacity analysis, Quality-of-Service (QoS) and Quality-of-Experience (QoE) provisioning, spectrum pricing and measurement, and AI-empowered network management.
The WMNL
is waiting for talented students who have strong desire for top-quality research
in next-generation networking technologies and applications.
If you are interested in joining the lab,
